Nothing says lovin’ like something from the oven…

As promised, I am posting the cookie recipe that Angela chose for all to see. What did she choose? Why my speci-ality (for you Wallace and Grommit lovers out there): Oatmeal Chocolate Chip.

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups uncooked oatmeal
1 (12 oz) pkg chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl, beat butter until fluffy.

Add sugars; beat until fluffy.

Helpful hint: scrape the sides before adding each new set of ingredients.

Add eggs and vanilla, beat well.

Add flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.

Stir in oatmeal and chocolate chips until thoroughly combined.

Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are just set. Do not over bake. Helpful hint: reset your oven in between sheets. Look how far off the temp is in on my oven after one batch.

Place on rack to cool.

Hey wait a minute! Who snuck a cookie?

Enjoy!

A special thanks goes out to my able assistant, Thing 2. 🙂
